How do you determine your ring size without driving to a jeweler? When shopping for a ring online, you don't have the advantage of a professional jeweler to size your finger and determine which ring size is the best fit. Fear not, with a few simple steps you can determine your ring size without leaving the house.
Steps
Cut a strip of paper or a piece of string. The paper should be no wider than 3/4" and at least 4 inches long.
Wrap the paper or string around the base of your finger that you are trying to size.
Mark the string or paper where it meets to form a circle.
Measure the length of the paper or string from the beginning to the mark with a ruler or tape measure.
Find the measurement on the chart below to find the corresponding ring size:
Tips
Don't wrap the paper or string too tightly around your finger, or you will have difficulty getting the ring over your knuckles.
It's a good idea to wrap the string or paper around your knuckle as well as the base of your finger and make modifications, as needed so the ring size will not be too tight for your knuckle or too loose on the base of your finger.
Keep in mind that your fingers will swell, and you should leave a little room for the ring.
